Sino-U.S. Vocational Education Exchange: "Perceive Wenzhou Young Sail at ZJITC" Launches Its 6th Edition

[Wenzhou, China — April 2026]

The 6th Sino-U.S. Vocational Education Development Exchange, themed "Perceive Wenzhou Young Sail at ZJITC," officially commenced in Wenzhou this April. Guided by the China Education Association for International Exchange and the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province, the event is hosted by Zhejiang Industry & Trade Vocational College (ZJITC). This initiative serves as a high-level platform for educational cooperation, industry-education integration, and cultural mutual learning between Chinese and American youth.



Building Bridges through Career and Technical Education

This year’s program specifically focuses on advancing the partnership between ZJITC and Gateway Technical Collegeof the United States. By fully implementing the initiative to invite 50,000 American teenagers to China for exchange and study, the summit aims to strengthen inter-school cooperation in several key areas:

Specialty Development & Faculty Training

Student Exchanges & Youth Skill Culture

Industry-Education Collaboration


The delegation from the United States includes students and faculty from Gateway Technical College, as well as representatives from the North Carolina Education Society (NCES).


A Week of Cultural and Industrial Exploration

Running from April 18 to April 23, 2026, the itinerary combines rigorous academic dialogue with immersive local experiences. Highlights of the exchange include:

Intangible Cultural Heritage: Students participated in a hands-on Ou Embossing (Ou Shuo) workshop to experience Wenzhou’s unique artistic traditions.

Industrial Study Tours: The American delegation visited leading Chinese enterprises, including Semir Group(modern logistics), Chint Group and Delixi Group (electrical industry), and Yalong Intelligent Equipment Group (intelligent manufacturing).

Youth Engagement: An "Ice-Breaking Campaign" and Tai Chi Exchange allowed students from both nations to foster personal connections and cultural understanding.
